 Rice Liwet Healthy Traditional Cuisine




Nasi liwet is a traditional Indonesian dish which as we all know that Indonesia has various tribes and cultures, it is not surprising that in Indonesia there are so many types of dishes that reflect that Indonesia is very rich in culture. 

 Indonesia has many attractions, including beautiful tourist spots, and the cuisine has a variety of flavors and is indeed delicious to enjoy.  

For those who can't come directly to Indonesia to taste the various flavors of the cuisine, don't worry because the recipe I wrote in this article is the original Indonesian liwet rice recipe. 

 for you there is no harm in trying to cook food from abroad because the adventure of taste is endless.


Chicken Egg Ingredients:


   4 pieces of chicken

   4 eggs

   1 tablespoon coconut milk

   2 segments of galangal

   2 bay leaves

    Salt, sugar and water to taste


   2 cups of washed rice

   65 ml coconut milk

   2.5 cups of water

   3 bay leaves

   Salt to taste



   Ground spices:


   4 cloves garlic

   4 cloves of red onion

   1 tablespoon turmeric powder


   Fried Sambal Ingredients:


   2 chayote (cut lengthwise)

   1 segment of galangal

   2 bay leaves

   65 ml coconut milk

   Sugar, salt and water to taste.


   Ground spices:


   10 curly chilies

   10 cayenne pepper

   4 cloves garlic

   4 cloves of red onion

   Steamed egg yolk

   2 egg yolks

   2 tablespoons coconut milk

   5 tablespoons yellow chicken stock

   salt to taste.


   How to make:


   Cook rice that has been added with coconut milk, water, bay leaves and salt using a rice cooker.

   Saute the ground spices for the yellow egg chicken with a little oil until fragrant.

   After that, add the chicken and eggs and other ingredients such as coconut milk, bay leaf, salt and sugar.  Stir well and wait for the spices to infuse.

   Next, stir-fry the fine ingredients to make the fried chili sauce until fragrant.

   Then add the chayote and other ingredients and stir until all the ingredients are well blended.  Let it boil and the ingredients are absorbed.

   To make steamed egg yolks, separate the yolks first by 2 eggs.  Add other ingredients and mix until smooth.

   Then steam for about 15 minutes.

   The process is complete and the food is ready to be served.
